About: Françoise Matte

- Experience : Françoise Matte has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Since 2002, she has been a member of the board of Boston Accueil and was elected President of the board in 2005. Boston Accueil is part of the global International Federation of French and Francophone Associations (FIAFE), connecting over 220 Accueils worldwide.
Over the past 15 years Boston Accueil has welcomed over 2100 individuals and families and helped them settle in the Boston area. Françoise was recognized by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs for her work in the French community and was awarded the title of “Chevalier dans l’Ordre National du Mérite” in May 2017. She has also been treasurer for the International Women’s club of Boston since 2012.
Prior to being involved in both organizations, she raised 3 daughters in the American public-school system and supported them in completing coursework through the French National Centre for Distance Education (CNED). This allowed them to be completely bilingual and pursue their studies in francophone universities.
