About: Tracey Wood

Tracey Wood

  • Experience : Tracey Wood is currently the Head of Middle and Upper School at Global Education Management Systems (GEMS) World Academy Chicago (GWA-C) where she is involved in the establishment of Illinois’ only independent International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school.

    Tracey has spent over 25 years in independent IB schools, with extensive experience cultivating global citizens within a bilingual environment. She taught and served as an administrator at the International School of Boston in Cambridge, MA where she oversaw the establishment and growth of a highly successful IB Diploma Program. She served on the executive board of the Guild of International Baccalaureate Schools of the Northeast (GIBS) for seven years, both as Vice-President for the New England Hub and as President, promoting accessible international education throughout an eight-state area.

    Tracey completed her master’s degree at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont and enrolled in Middlebury’s graduate program at Bread Loaf School of English. Her undergraduate degree is from Vanderbilt University.
